I’ve just seen these. I like them but I’m 41 - will I look like I’m going rambling?
Also, is the bare ankle obligatory? Even when it’s a rainy 3deg outside?

Someone has posted these in black om another thread and been met with mostly nos and advice to buy leather ones. It's thr ankle padding that puts me off. They look like Timberland work boots!

Lol yes the other person that posted them would be me. I was thinking if the exact same boots but in black. Personally I like em, but from my thread it was mostly met with negative response.

If you like them though then go with them. Your opinion is all that matters and I'm sure that you will find many people who also like your shoes.

I like the brown ones, I think they are very nice. You have to wear what YOU love at the end of the day..It's the only way for you to feel comfortable and happy. What's ok and what isn't is entirely subjective on the part of everyone else.

I like them. In fact I like them better than the black ones on the other thread cos the eyelets don't look so blingy.

Re the bare ankles - I saw people people wearing them last winter with just a sliver of sock showing (so no chilly legs). I think it can look good, especially if you have slim ankles.
