Zara jeans - dry clean only????

I bought some jeans from Zara yesterday, and when I've got them home the washing label says dry clean only.

They have hand sewn sparkly beads, sequins etc on them. Pic attached (hopefully)

If I turn them inside out and put them in a mesh bag do you think it would be OK to put them in the washing machine? Or will this damage the beads?

Jxx

I bought a silk top from All Saints, which is dry clean only. I put it in a pillow case and stuck it in the machine on a hand wash cycle and it's been fine.

That is bonkers , I'm an ex dry cleaner and I can tell you those beads will most likely melt in the dry cleaner !! Manufacturers put dry clean only on to protect themselves . So us dry cleaners take the brunt of it and they have less returns !! .. they should test every item but I think it's very unlikely they have tested these and have just bunged on a label as it's safer than actually testing or checking .. as a rule the dry cleaning process isn't safe for plastics ( it is a chemical and uses heat ) . !!

Same applies to the blouse ^^ .. most people are shockingly bad at washing and if a label says wash they will just bung I with other stuff which will of course cause damage ... as a rule of something says dry clean you can hand wash it , if it says 30 you can wash on 40, etc etc...they always err on the side of caution but I don't think they realise the danger of d/c and plastic !!

OP I have a cotton dress from Zara with beading like that on it, it says dry clean only but I turned it inside out and put it in a mesh bag - turned out fine! I won't be washing it loads but it seems to be ok done this way occasionally

Thanks everyone. I thought it seemed a bit mad. I'll do them inside out on the hand wash cycle. Jx
