I want a big meriangue wedding dress btw I am young and its a big church wedding so bare with me in terms of bigness etc.

So I liked this a lot but it was a bit asymetrical-
dress 1

I loved this one - I keep thinking about it, its very much what I imagined I would like. Will def try on again.
dress 2

I really liked this one, its very 'fluffy' (ie the skirt looks like a duvet) for my tastes but I felt fab in it, really princessy and it was flattering, and now I am home I can't stop thinking about it!! Please ignore the colour in the picture! I would have ivory. I would want to try it on again but I wonder if its the one?
dress 3

What do you think?

I love love love this

SillyMillysMummy · 06/04/2007 17:12

dress 3 3 3, go for it girl, its your day, you wear the one that makes YOU feel most special. I went through loads of should I shouldnt I's when i got married, but the dress that made me feel most special just happened to be huge and purple!!! I got it and never regretted a minute of it, nobody will ever forget my wedding!!

SillyMillysMummy · 06/04/2007 17:21

smurfgirl, just read more of this thread and i cant beleive people are trying to put you off number 3, if you think you have the personality to carry it off then you go for it girl, the link below is my wedding pics from the photographers website, the dress MADE the day, if it had been ordinary it wouldn't have fitted, do it YOUR way

my wedding day

LittleSarah · 06/04/2007 17:25

I love number two. I am tempted to find a man and make him fall madly in love with me just so I could get married in it!

Campagneforlunch · 06/04/2007 17:25

I love number three so much so I nearly bought it last year.
Went for this instead Sydney

PeachyChocolateEClair · 06/04/2007 17:28

LOl at SillyMi8llysMummy

None of us were bang oj conventional- SillyMillyMummy (love the pics) ahd a fab bluey purple gown; I had shot gunmetal (and a water mill- wish the pics were online to show you- esp the one of Dh and I on the bridge over the waterfall ; campagne had every flounce available.... because that's what amde US feel great! paulaplumpbottom · 06/04/2007 18:00

number two is lovely, not fussed on the other two

Smurfgirl · 06/04/2007 18:08

Thanks for the comments

sillymillysmum where did you have your wedding I notice your photographer covers the N.E

here is a picture of no.3 in white on a real person

If anyone is interested I am having my reception here -
Headlam Hall

OP posts:
SlightlyMadSpringBunny · 06/04/2007 18:13

That actually looks much nicer on a real person. The puffs don't seem as puffed up IYSWIM. I guess it is down to being stage for the camera...

I personally still prefer No 1 - but at the day what is important is what you think and and not 30 other people on an internet forum

3easterbunniesandnomore · 06/04/2007 18:20

gorgeaus venue smurf

SlightlyMadSpringBunny · 06/04/2007 18:21

Actually - having seen it on a real person I could see it being on my shortlist...

SillyMillysMummy · 06/04/2007 18:24

lol Peachy - sorry he's just away for the night, think I am more jealous than sad cos he's out with our friends and i should be there, am going to join him tomorrow though

Smurfgirl - Headlam Hall is gorgeous, I am in Sunderland and married locally, nowhere special, other than to us.

PeachyChocolateEClair · 06/04/2007 18:25

Lovely venue and still a nice dress

PeachyChocolateEClair · 06/04/2007 18:27

LOL Sillymum

We only married where we did because it was clsoe t DH's family home- I had never heard of it but was glad after visiting!

LaDiDaDi · 06/04/2007 18:28

Personally I prefer 2 but I can see that 1 is a lovely dress it just wouldn't suit me, but that doesn't matter as it's your wedding! I really don't like number 3, for the same reason as you, somehow the skirt just screams "duvet" !

juicychops · 06/04/2007 18:33

i like number 2 the best

LaDiDaDi · 06/04/2007 18:42

Now I've read the whole thread I see that I really like number 4.
SillyMummy, your dress was fantastic, a great colour, you look great.

redshoes · 06/04/2007 18:58

I really like number 2, especially the back. What sort of veil/headgear will you have? SillyMillysMummy your photos are divine! You carried that dress off wonderfully...love the dramatic breezy shots

twinsetandpearls · 07/04/2007 01:28

SillyMillysMummy your wedding looked inspirational.

Chandra · 07/04/2007 04:07

Smurfgirl, I have seen Number 3 in real life and the photo doesn't makes it justice. Unfortunately it's mostly photos what you keep as memories from the wedding.

I would go for number 2. But it is your wedding, choose the one that you like better

alipiggie · 07/04/2007 05:00

Loved your choice Number 2 and Pink Tulips favourite.
