Ankle boots for those short of leg?

I'm really struggling to find medium heeled ankle boots that don't go much higher than my ankle bone. And in grey.

So many I've tried on go up too high and flap around my ankle like a welly (not a good look esp with dresses).

Has anyone else short of leg found anything like this?

Possibly something like this in grey (ducks in case anyone thinks these are hideous)...

I like those. I am similarly short and like very low cut ankle boots. So am watching with interest.

OK so far I've found these tho am finding it hard to really tell how high up they go and if they're gappy...
