I fulfilled a lifelong S&B dream this week.

and bought a fitted velvet blazer in burgundy. Found it on eBay, it's vintage 60's apparently (were velvet blazers a thing in the 60's?). Don't really care too much about it's origin as it fits like a dream and is in immaculate condition.

Have wanted a jewel toned velvet blazer since seeing Lorelai Gilmore wear a gorgeous teal one years ago.

Planning to wear over floral dresses like this although probably with semi sheer tights and docs for a more 90's look.

Do you think it would look good with skinnies and a vest/cami as well? Could be quite Christmas appropriate?

I love it! I have a deep rich blue/ black one that I adore and get lots of wear from. Now I think I want a burgandy one !

(Though beauty and the beast springs to mind ....)

I've found it! Well not the ones I sent to the charity shop but I got one last year in a weigh n' pay and it's been in the dry cleaning bag ever since it's very dark blue (but not navy) Will def wear this winter.

I have a gorgeous teal one from M&S about 10 years ago. She glad I've kept it. I had a burgundy one too but must have got rid if it.

I adore velvet.
