Shopping in Boston

Hi all - I'm going to Boston for work and will have an afternoon to wander round shops. Can anybody recommend any areas/shops to go to? I know the pound isn't very strong...

Shops I like are Whistles, &Other Stories, Reiss for work - was thinking of going to J Crew and Anthropologie but any other ideas?? Like Isabel Marant style stuff (not the prices though) so US style is normally a bit too 'preppy'.

Thank you!

The Prudential Center is good. Make sure you go round the Italian Food part, it is as close to food heaven as you will ever find (if you are interested in food, of course). There is a good selection of other shops there too but I find that most shops in the US main shopping centres are identical to home. Go up the tower as well for an amazing view of the city.

Thanks chemenger - to be honest I was erring on the more food and views side of things anyway from a quick google!!

Ha - no - but I don't want a Reiss anyway... just an idea of what stuff I like!

Newbury Street is my favorite for shopping in Boston. Lots of larger stores (like Anthropologie) mixed with boutiques and restaurants. It isn't far from the Prudential Center.

Thank you! I'll definitely try Newbury Street

Yes Newbury Street is quirky and classy, and close to the Prudential.

You need Legal Seafoods.

Club Monaco

Sephora! I think it's in the Prudential Center -can't remember though.

I was there a couple of years ago and ran around like a kid in a candy shop.

I then left my Sephora bag full of everything I had bought on the underground (sob)

I don't have too many clothing shops to recommend though, I am originally from America and agree that many of the clothes are too preppy.

However like a pp said I would prioritise food - amazing Italian food and seafood.

Yup - focus on food sounds very wise advice. But always love a bit of Sephora....!!
