Turning 40, please help with my hair!

I didn’t think turning 40 would be a big deal, really wasn’t bothered it’s just a number no big deal up until a few months ago. Suddenly I have decided I must have an overhaul to mark the non occasion.

I have mid length thick brunette hair, I want to change it slightly maybe have burgundy ombré or balayage but then I want to look ‘naice’ so burgundy probably isn’t the best choice.

Any ideas? Has anyone else felt the urge to morph themselves into a supermodel just because of an upcoming birthday?

Disclaimer: I am not nor will ever be at super anything!

Yes. I'm turning 30 in October and wanting to do something really different with my hair and up my skincare..I feel a mix of excitement of a new decade and a nagging shock that I'm going to be ticking boxes 30-40 in just a month..all at once

Any who , I'd do bayalage idea. Go softer, warmer, and lighter. But I'm sure you could also rock the burgundy, maybe just make it "subtle"
