New foundation needed - where are all the deals?

So now that the heating is on and the flip-flops are away, it's time to think about buying some new foundation to hide autumnal shadows.

I'm open to recommendations, particularly if there's a deal or free gift attached. Grin

I have fairly pale combination skin, (green eyes and freckles) so need quite a light tone. I've used Clinique in the past and I've seen Estee Lauder double wear recommended. Both have free gifts for the next few days and while Estee Lauder's gift seems better, the foundation costs a bit more and the shades don't seem so pale. Are there any others out there?

I can go into town tomorrow to test shades, so hit me with your wisdom.

The ordinary by deciem. Super cheap and amazing. And you can choose for each shade an undertone - pink, yello or half way. Do not choose yellow unless you're Asian- it looked rediculous on my complexion. They do serum (lighter) or coverage. And it's about £6!!!!!

Opheliasgoldenwine · 20/09/2017 11:15

To clarify, do you want a high-end one?

gallicgirl · 24/09/2017 15:18

Hi, I was looking around the £30 price mark.
I opted for Estee Lauder double wear which I'm happy with. However, I will check out other suggestions.
I saw The Ordinary but wasn't sure how you would try it in order to get a good colour match. Didn't realise it was that cheap!

I've been using the boots number 7 stay perfect. Seems to last really well on my skin, and they do colour match too. They seem to alternate between 3 for 2 offers or offering a free gift. Think the foundation is about £16 so maybe a bit cheaper than you were looking for but it's worth having a look at it Smile

Mac studio fix foundation is my go to

Cakescakescakes · 24/09/2017 16:59

For future reference I love the double wear light. It's the same super long wear time but just a more light to medium coverage and more fluid formula rather than the full coverage and thicker formula of double wear.

Northernmum100 · 24/09/2017 17:33

Another for number 7 stay perfect. I've wasted so much money on foundation over the years and since getting colour matched I've not strayed away. As pp said, three for two few is great-get colour match concealer and new lippie (also colour match to go with skin tone) and sorted😊

Qvc have a Bare minerals TSV (Todays special value) on Saturday (next weekend), which includes a liquid foundation. It's normally a boxed set with 5 or more products. Can't wait :)

PollyPerky · 24/09/2017 18:59

I'd suggest Dior Star, Clarins uplifting (it doesn't but is nice coverage),maybe Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation (really light coverage), or possibly the new Clinique Even Better which reflecting bits.

Urban decay all nighter is amazing. I've swapped from years of using Mac studio FX and this beats it hands down.

gallicgirl · 24/09/2017 19:16

Love the urban decay eye pallettes so will take a look. My friend who sells make-up (in USA) recommended a brand which is only sold by QVC in the UK! Wouldn't have even thought of looking there.
