Even with the heating on our house is freezing in the winter...So can anyone recommend somewhere high street ish where I can get very inexpensive but half decent thermals from?

Yes. Uniqlo's Heat Tech stuff is really good (wearing it right now.) It's fine, silky soft, can be worn under clothes or as tops/leggings in its own right and doesn't cost the earth.

JigglyTuff · 16/09/2017 15:07

Second that. Heat Tech is fab (I'm also wearing a fab fluffy zip up fleece coat from UNIQLO at the moment which is super cosy)

I popped on to ask the same question. Visiting Iceland in December so I'm looking out for some bargains to layer up with, the heat tech stuff looks promising.

Again Uniqlo or cheaper/easier to get hold of, Primark.

When DD went ski-ing with the school in Yr8 , I stocked up on loads of layers for her .

Sports Direct do their own that are cheap as chips but are nice and warm. We buy them for skiing.

I managed to get 2 long sleeve tops, 2 pairs of leggings and 2 camisole tops, all thermal, for £27 at Primark..so I'm happy and warm :) (Forgot to look for hot water bottles though!

Aldi has done them last couple lf years. Really cosy

bingohandjob · 17/09/2017 17:46

Uniqlo Heat Tech range is great - and you can get extra warm pieces.

seefeld · 17/09/2017 18:20

M&S do them in various colours. I've got a few and they're great!

Pinkandpurplehairedlady · 17/09/2017 20:30

Another vote for Uniqlo, I have heat tech extra warm leggings and tops and they keep me nice and toasty all through winter (I also wear them when I'm going up mountains / camping overnight somewhere cold). This year I'm going to invest in their thermal skinny jeans.

CaseStudyResearch · 17/09/2017 21:22

I've just picked up some ex-M&S on eBay for about £5-6 each.

Not high street but I love my lands end thermal leggings, plus they double as great looking leggings with a tunic top.

HurtyTeeth · 19/09/2017 10:55

Do the M&S thermals wash well?
