Hi all, i recently purchased a Benefit Cosmetics bag from ebay and when it arrived i think it may be a fake. From the research i have done i think it was sold in 2010/2011, I have contacted the seller and they say they bought it in boots but i can not find out when boots started selling Benefit Cosmetics. Can anyone help me with this information.

Regards CNK

Boots have been selling Benefit for pretty much forever, I think.

I bought Benetint in Boots around 2006, but I think they stocked Benefit even prior to this year.
I remember because i was abroad, a wedding, stained the dress i had planned to wear and had to buy a new one....

I think they started selling in boots in mid 2000 - I used to go to the one in boots market street Manchester when I was a student and remember it opening .

I definitely remember buying some Benefit makeup in boots in 2005 and it was there before that, if that helps.

I did my first ever online order in 2003 and it was a benefit item from Boots. What I would say is I remember building up my Benefit collection around 2006 -7 and deciding against the make up bag as it was around £20 but the quality was awful and it looked so cheap.

What makes you think the bag is a fake? To be honest, to me Benefit is of L'Oreal, Rimmel level but sold at a higher price. I'd expect a Benefit makeup bag to be a bit placticky and cheap.

Hi all , thanks for your response. I think it is a fake because all the bags i have seen instore and doing an image search have the words "By benefit" on them but this one does not.

Benefit make up bags are generally given free as part of a promotion. They can be cute but they are not high end, or particularly well made. Would it even be worth copying?

I bought a makeup bag from Benefit at Boots in 2004. I remember as it was just before I moved abroad. It's still in good nick and I use it now!

They are in Boots in towns where there is no department store concession or individual shop. Have been for as long as I can remember, at least 15 years.
