Alternative to double wear?

I have recently been trying to use up some make up and rediscovered double wear foundation. Sadly, I can't really afford to replace it, now I've decided I like it again... What can you recommend for a similar look, but a lower price? I am very, very pale. I'm happy with this, but it can make foundation a little tricky with cheaper brands sometimes.

Anyone?

Hi Op, when you say you like the look do you mean the shade (because it's pale enough for your skin tone) or the coverage?

ShebaQueen · 15/09/2017 22:28

I'd recommend Revlon Colourstay

I suppose I just mean that I like how pale I am and don't want to have to mask that with a darker colour. I definitely do like the covrerage it provides. I'll have a look at the colour stay, thank you.

Colourstay.

I changed from DW to primark longerar mineralised foundation and have been amazed. It's pale enough for me and really does last.

I've had problems before with mineral foundation bringing me out in spots before (odd I know, as it's usually recommended to help with problem skin), can I ask SuperSange, has this ever been an issue for you?
Looks like colourstay is definitely one to try.

Hi OP, I used double wear before and have used mineral powder -it made me break out too. I switched to Lancôme teint idole, the coverage has not quite the depth double wear would give but it's just as long lasting and never triggered my skin.

SuperSange · 16/09/2017 17:06

It's not voided me any issues at all. I won't be going back. I reckoned for £5 it was worth a go, so pleased I did!

The L'oreal Infallible in the squeezy tube. Can't tell a difference tbh.

Herja · 17/09/2017 11:19

Ooh! Thank you all I will have to try them all over the next months. They all seem a LOT more affordable.

If you're very pale have a look at the Lancôme teint idole ultra wear foundation. It's fairly new so they will be generous with samples. I'm cool toned very pale and the 008 is a very good match. Although EL DW was always too dark for me so you might not need to go that light. Have a look at some swatches online to see which shades you think will be you and then go and ask for tJose as samples. They were giving out pretty generous sized tubes a few months ago so probably still do. I had two little sample tubes that lasted me 3 months before I went and bought the full size.
