Hi,

I have sensitive skin, and struggling to find good cleansers and moisturisers. Right now using aveeno as moisturiser. has anyone got some products they would recommend?

Thank you

Elemis, its pretty pricey but I'm allergic to so much but can use everything other than their flash balm.

Have you tried Avene?

I use the La Roche Posay Toleriane dermo cleanser, & Ultra Toleriane moisturiser. Thanks actually to the ladies on the skincare threads here. Both work beautifully on my rosacea-y, sensitised skin.

LRP Toleriane range is the bomb for super sensitive skin.

I would go for something like LRP, or Avene.

Elemis is very highly perfumed (though I love the scent) so if it's perfume you're sensitive to, it might not be for you.

Be wary of ranges like Simple and Clinique- 2 of the harshest brands around. People often go for them because they are marketed as "pure" and "clean" when they are both virtually paint-strippers. (Clinique lady told me that!)

It depends in part what sort of sensitive skin you have - very dry/eczema prone? Or acne/spot breakout prone? Or rosacea prone?

La Roche for example isn't moisturising enough for my very dry skin. But a combination of Clinique and Eucerin are. (Eucerin is another good brand to look at - they do a range of products for different kinds of sensitive skin).

Body shop camomile cleanser (and eye make up remover) also good for very dry skin. But would be less so for acne prone I imagine.
In general I've found Body Shop products least likely to cause a flare up of my eczema.

Avene is great for sensitive skin. I also like Olay Total Effects moisturiser in the fragrance free option. I think it's trial and error though! Nivea do a sensitive Cleanser and day cream which are gentle too.

Cetaphil is great and very gentle -- both cleanser and moisturiser.

I'm currently using Mario Badescu, I normally react to everything but these have been fine so far, not fragrant either and my skin looks really good if I do say so myself

Look up www.purenuffstuff.co.uk.

Thanks for all your help, will look into it. Have tried elemis in the past, but found moisturiser was stinging a bit. Cleansing balm was good.
