Lip balm/tint help required!

Can anyone recommend a properly moisturising, non-greasy, quick absorbing, nicely coloured lip balm or moisture gloss?

I have tried legions of them and nothing is right; EOS didn't sit right (too waxy), NYX gloss (too sticky), Maybelline Baby Lips also wasn't quite right.

I'm in mourning still for what was the perfect moisturising lip gloss - Max Factor Gloss Cube Shade #10 which eBay has finally and sadly run out of...Max Factor ceased making it in 2013.

My dream is to find a perfect replacement that I can buy multiples of and carry one with me everywhere. But every time I buy something new it's not right.

Can anyone help? I have very bloodless lips and am tired of looking like a sad ghost.

The Korres balms are lovely - I use Wild Rose. Burts Bees tinted balms are also really good. More difficult to find in the UK but moisturising gloss I love is the Korres Cherry Oil gloss (you can get them online but if you're in London I've found them at John Bell & Croyden). Or the Clarins ones?

TheLegendOfBeans · 13/09/2017 11:15

I don't suppose you've ever seen them in a Waitrose as I know they do the shower gels in there?

Funny; I've used Burts Bees before and found it waxy!

No, the balms are in Waitrose I think (definitely in John Lewis), but the glosses hardly anywhere - I've found them in Sephora abroad & in Greek pharmacies but only once in the UK other than online.

TheLegendOfBeans · 13/09/2017 14:03

Noted. Needless to say I will swing past John Lewis this afternoon 😀

This is light weight, super glossy and nicely moisturising. I love it. It's labelled as a lipstick but I would say it's more a glossy balm really. 'Proudly Naked' is a great my-lips-but-better shade.

RubbishMantra · 13/09/2017 17:05

I like No 7 lip crayons or Clinique Chubby Sticks - They're both nicely lightweight and balm-like.

TheLegendOfBeans · 13/09/2017 17:10

Well, I've spent a fiver on a Carmex tinted balm - it's ok, still a bit too waxy for my liking.

However, I'll take any excuse to try a suite of options.

Rubbish if you like the chubby sticks then try the bourjois ones. They're very similar but I find the chubbies a bit drying. These have lovely slip but not at all heavy.

Elizabeth Arden 8 hour lip balm. Tinted or untinted.

abigailgabble · 13/09/2017 20:25

such an elusive thing OP. korres was too oily for me, also gritty?. burts bees also a bit too much oil (i love their honey lip balm I'm pro waxy) and poor colour pay off. atm I'm making do with posie tint and butts bees honey combined

LentilBaby · 13/09/2017 21:01

Kiehl's do some really nice tinted lip balms

Puzzledmum · 14/09/2017 08:29

YSL has a fab one - Volupte tint-in balm, which I use and absolutely love. It is moisturizing, non-waxy and looks great.

abigailgabble · 14/09/2017 08:46

i did not like kiehls 😞

Maudlinmaud · 14/09/2017 08:50

Definitely the Elizabeth arden eight hour, I've got a few colours. Great stuff.

OCSockOrphanage · 14/09/2017 08:53

Elemis is the best lip balm I have found at keeping lips soft and hydrated, but it's colourless.

LentilBaby · 14/09/2017 10:11

That's a shame. The Eve Lom lip balm is really good but unfortunately colourless ☹️ Have you tried any of the lip oils? Lancôme and Clarins do them. Lovely colours and nicely hydrating

TheLegendOfBeans · 14/09/2017 10:20

Picked up the GOSH Lip Oil on the way to the station this morning...actually quite pleased! So between that and the Carmex Berry Shade that's a couple of potential replacements.

I will never ever ever forgive Max Factor for zapping the Gloss Cubes. I feel like I'm trying to replace a ballgown with a variety of smocks (stamps foot dramatically).

Lol! 😂 Glad you found a replacement love! X

abigailgabble · 15/09/2017 18:10

Unicorn81 · 15/09/2017 18:23

DaftSkunk · 15/09/2017 19:45

Benebalm

ToothTrauma · 15/09/2017 19:47

The Benebalm range is the best imo

TheLegendOfBeans · 15/09/2017 21:38

Oh those Tarte ones are so chic! But a bit too £££ sadly

The clarins lip oil is lovely but a bit expensive for what it is. That said I have three of them!
