Anyone had their teeth whitened?

Ds announced yesterday that my teeth were a bit yellow! Am mortified .. they do look a bit stained but not that bad but now I'm looking into teeth whitening. There seem to be a range of options from dentists to specialist clinics.. one near me is called smile 60

Anyone done this and recommend anywhere. I live in Surrey

Cheers

Before getting serious and expensive have you tried Pearl drops toothpaste? The one in the pink box is really effective. Obviously it won't give you the Hollywood smile but it is pain free for teeth and wallet, unlike the real thing.

Will give that a try first thanks!

Or Crest strips. I use the Professional Effects ones c. £45 for 20 treatments. Make a massive difference - can order online

Your teeth do yellow over time as the enamel wears off . I use to have amazing teeth and now they are much more yellow . There is no staining it's just getting older 🤷‍♀️.. do you see a hygienist regularly ? If it is staining they can help .

I'm currently half way through enlighten whitening. Got my braces off and thought why not?! My braces coat a fortune so may as well add a few hundred on the end to get the results I really want. My teeth looked quite yellowed. I drink black coffee. But after a really good polish at dentist they looked marginally better.

Enlighten is costly but guarantees shade b1 which is the lightest shade (I think) before the whitening shade scale. I've been wearing my trays overnight, avoiding coffee and they are def looking whiter and brighter! Slightly patchy in some places which resulted in a frenzied email to my lovely dentist who said it was normal until they've settled afterwards. Have had no sensitivity which I was worried about as I used to get really sensitive teeth. The only thing I've felt is a slight zing sensation on one tooth that has a slightly receded gum to it's previously bad positioning but that soon went!

You can also keep your trays and just buy syringes of gel each year or 2 to do a top up. Think a syringe is about £50 but it has a 2yr shelf life and you only use a tiny blob on each tooth so it lasts ages

Had it done professionally years back but think the Crest strips are more effective.
