I'm after a wand to give me beach waves. I've got thick collar length hair. Is this any good?

I have the 25mm barrel version of this with Tourmaline finish. It's ok, which I knew it would be as I didn't feel like spending GHD or T3 money. It doesn't hold on to the curl on its own so you need some sort of extra product (I use L'Oreal Professional Tecni Art Constructor which is a heat protector as well) but otherwise, it does the job as described and how long it holds a curl will depend on individual hair texture.

I would point out that I have similar length hair to you, not massively thick but not quite fine either, and a 25mm barrel feels a bit too big in all honesty but may be just around the right size if you've got thicker hair. Am debating myself currently on whether to go down to a 19mm but a 38mm barrel would be unwieldy and too big for this length of hair IME (I have a now defunct 32mm wand from when I had bra strap length hair).
