Which dress for a wedding guest? A or B

hazeydays14 · 11/09/2017 23:18

Hi all

I've got an autumn wedding to go to soon. It's a church service followed by a reception in a Manor House type place.

Please help me choose:
Option A
Or
Option B

Thanks!

B from me

SauvignonGrower · 11/09/2017 23:21

B seems more stylish to me.

JesusTapdancingChrist · 11/09/2017 23:25

B.

PoppyPopcorn · 11/09/2017 23:27

Definitely B - much more suitable for a wedding. A is more a "clubbing" dress or at least a night out on the tiles dress.

PrincessPlod · 11/09/2017 23:32

B

AllPizzasGreatAndSmall · 11/09/2017 23:46

They both look more evening do than wedding to me.

myrtleWilson · 11/09/2017 23:58

I agree with Pizzas - more evening/night out than wedding...

Twelvety · 12/09/2017 00:01

I agree that they're more evening/night out dresses, although they are nice.

Puffpaw · 12/09/2017 00:05

You'll probably want to cover your shoulders in church, not least because you will be freezing otherwise! Both look a little cold for an autumn wedding, unless it's in Spain or something. Have you got a wrap or shrug?
B is the nicest.

SweetLuck · 12/09/2017 00:05

They both look like 'pulling' clothes to me.

hazeydays14 · 12/09/2017 00:12

Seems like a unanimous B so far, which is good because that's what I was hoping for! The other dress was DPs preferred but what do men know!

I do have a jacket to go over them or I would definitely be frozen Grin it's a cream blazer type thing but not too structured iyswim

Not sure how knee length dresses constitute pulling clothes but okay Grin

Open to suggestions but sticking to the sale ideally!

I like the material, and the 'body' of dress A, so, if you were keeping your jacket on, then it makes the whole look more suitable
I prefer that to 'B', although agree with everyone else, on their own neither is probably ideal, but the style of 'B' is probably slightly better than the style of A.

Puffpaw · 12/09/2017 00:49

Cream blazer sounds lovely

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 12/09/2017 00:49

I don't actually think either are suitable for a wedding; they're rather "look at me".

Fluffypinkpyjamas · 12/09/2017 01:01

Neither of them look suitable for a wedding.

Peppermeant · 12/09/2017 08:08

I think they are both fine for a wedding. I don't understand the "not suitable" part - it's not as if either are low cut or extremely short or (gasp) white?

Peppermeant · 12/09/2017 08:09

Personally prefer A btw for the colour! I think it has sold out however.

greendale17 · 12/09/2017 08:11

B

A is too nightclub

chantico · 12/09/2017 08:12

They're only suitable for the reception parts of an evening wedding.

That said, if you can find a jacket to wear until after any meal is concluded, I think you could get away with B.

ItsLikeRainOnYourWeddingDay · 12/09/2017 08:17

For a wedding Confused

B at a push and even then as others have said you must keep your jacket on until the evening reception.

Paintbox · 12/09/2017 08:18

I don't think it's the length that people are commenting on op, it's the fact that they are bodycon and also off the shoulder, they reveal quite a lot whilst being knee length

Needalifeoverhaul · 12/09/2017 08:22

I love B...will look great with your cream blazer for the service and then at the reception can remove it and you'll look fab! Agree with others that the styling of A is a bit too clubbing for a wedding

MyOtherProfile · 12/09/2017 08:27

B is the better of the two but I wouldn't wear either to a wedding. Neither look smart.

WhatchaMaCalllit · 12/09/2017 08:33

Call me old fashioned but I really don't think either is suitable for the style of wedding you've described. They are both perfect for going clubbing or to the evening part of a wedding (when the disco starts).

Would any of these be to your liking:

Dress 1

Dress 2

Dress 3

Dress 4

In my opinion, any of these would be better suited to a church service and then on to a manor house reception.

BuzzKillington · 12/09/2017 08:34

Neither are suitable for a wedding, imo.

And £25/£21? I would also be worried that they would look very cheap.
