Work tops

Searching for inspiration...I work in an office, professional role but not client-facing so have to be smart but not necessarily a suit. I need some tops to wear with black trousers or skirts. I'm not super fussy but would like short sleeves and not polyester. Can't wear pale blue, yellow or red but other colours are fine - particularly orange, green, purple and black would be useful. I'm a size 14. Can anyone recommend me anything or even just shops I might not have thought of?

Oasis have some nice tops at present. Around £28 for a basic top.

meladeso · 10/09/2017 19:40

Have you looked at mango? And Cos are great.

Ponks · 10/09/2017 19:49

Boden Ravello tops might be worth a look.

Thank you! Normally love Oasis but there's not really anything at the moment. Mango good but we don't have one locally so would have to be online and the sizing is iffy. Hadn't thought of Cos so will try that. Boden I think is expensive for what it is but will take a look.

There are some nice ones in h&m, 100% viscose. here

Another vote for Boden Ravello, but wait until there's a code.

I can normally find myself a few new tops online for n the house of fraiser sale section.

I live in tops and black trousers for work

I get most things from Uniqlo!

purplecorkheart · 10/09/2017 20:36

I tend to head towards Next for tops. They do lightest wool tops, that look well, wash well and are.light enough to put a jacket/blazer over. Monsoon have them.as.well.although Monsoon prices in Ireland tend to.be expensive unless.you buy in a sale in my case.

H&M have some good value Cos style tops at the moment, I bought a short sleeve black cotton blouse and they had other options. Uniqlo or M&S too.

I'm a size 14 and find Oasis tops really good for work. I think there is a bit of polyester in a lot of high sreeet tops though. Ted baker tight t shirts (they are smart despite being stretchy t shirts) also good.

Tucking in helps to make them look smarter / more office appropriate

herecomesthsun · 10/09/2017 22:06

ravello - but wait for the sale Grin
