What do you think of this dress?

Formal evening, black tie. Hard to tell if other guests will be in cocktail or full blown long evening dresses.
Does this look like it might work?
I'm 5'8 and size 12 just the other side of 50.

That's fabulous. I'm a similar height and age to you (just t'other side of 50) and a size 14. I got a similar evening dress from Phase 8 last year. They are excellent for simple, elegant evening wear. It find them just the right length too, although I find all their day wear too short.

I wouldn't wear tan with it. It's a very classy dress though.

The shoes look a bit frumpy but I really don't want to spend much more.

I think the shoes and bag will go nicely, and they're not high heels so should be comfortable.

Gorgeous gorgeous dress. Just my type of thing! Classy and elegant. Personally, I think black or metallics would work best with this dress.. not tan.
