When my bag gets messy I buy a new one

Does anyone else do this?

I have a gorgeous black leather coach tote (never spent that much before) and I have used it every day for three years. It needs a good clearout through all the pockets and it is quite gross at the bottom eg crumbs and something sticky. I can't face cleaning it so I am considering chucking it and buying a whole new bag. Is that bad?

I recently put my Radley handbag in a pillowcase, then gave it a "delicates" spin in the washing machine. It took 2 days to air dry but is now good as new. (TBF I had nothing to lose - a Drumstick lolly had melted and fused itself to the inside, so it would have been ruined anyway if the washing machine hadn't revived it!)

Definitely throw it out! If you pm me I'll give you the address of a great disposal service which is definitely not my house all you do is bang it in a jiffy bag, whack the postage on and pop it in the post box! hope a swish new bag arrives for me soon

Just put it in its dust bag or a pillow case and put it in the washing machine on the gentlest hand wash cycle. Should come out looking beautiful. I've done this loads with my Burberry handbag.

I'm a bit grossed out though by the fact you've not cleared it out or cleaned it in 3 years of constant use

Gobsmacked by the idea of putting them in the washing machine. By the time the lining of my bags is a health hazard I've normally bashed the exterior trim and corners to hell so they have to go.

I empty my bag out every day. I never see the point of carrying around loads of crap with me.

I could try washing it. Never thought of that. The outside is perfect. It's just the inside that's disgusting.
