Can anyone recommend trousers suitable for a christening?

I have a christening to go to soon and don't want to wear skirt/dress. Can any of you recommend some trousers that would work with some kind of blouse?

Obviously I don't want to look like I'm going to work! Any ideas? Getting desperate now :(

Wide-legged? Cigarette? Basically any that don't look like the bottom half of a suit.

A lot of it will be how you style them (I do actually wear the first two to work but also with other clothes for other occasions)

Warehouse have some nice things this season

I got these for my daughters christening and they were really comfortable. They actually look a bit shit on the website- I got them in regular length (rather than short-even though I'm only 5'2") so that when I wore heels with them they are only about an inch away from the ground, which I felt made them sit better. I wore them with a plain white t shirt of a similar fabric, tucked in, with lime green accessories!

Oh those could definitely work, thank you!! What sort of shoes did you wear?

I had a pair of lime green heels on. Any bright colour would go really well with them!

I'd say the colour determines if it's 'work' or 'bit of a do'. I had some gorgeous cream silk-linen mix wide legged trousers from Boden years ago that I wore loads until I made the mistake of hand washing rather than dry cleaning them and they shrunk about 4 inches. I was bereft.

So, either go light or bright in your colour choice and wear with fairly simple accessories. So maybe these or these with a ravello top or a simple silk blouse (Other Stories have loads) with the shoes of your own choice.

Oh I get your point but I am very much a fade into the background person so I was navy would probably be my first choice - I'm hoping the right shoes and top will make it work?
