How to look 'expensive' throughout autumn and winter?

I'd love a pair of Jimmy Choo riding boots and a cashmere Burberry coat, however this won't be happening so, how does one look effortlessly groomed in the cold windy drizzly weather?

A good coat and boots with a nice scarf. It doesnt have to be Burberry or Jimmy Choo but could be Jaeger or Carvela.

Oh and a decent handbag

Dress like you haven't been dragged through an hedge backwards.👍 scarves and handbags and also leather style driving gloves.

I got a lovely Jaeger coat in TK Maxx last year about this time, classic shape and colour so doesn't look last year and good quality. It's more winter wear though so not really just yet.

I have heard good things about the M&S trench this year, it's not right on my short arse frame but if you "normal adult" sized, would be a good cheap version of a classic.

Standard advise is to iron your clothes, wear discreet jewellery and make up. Polish your boots/winter shoes, get them re-heeled if need be this week before the weather fully turns.

I always find by the end of the summer my hair is a state, although as we went away at the start of the summer and it's helpfully pissed it down, I'm not going in to autumn with straw for hair, but still would say do a few deep conditioning treatments, get the ends chopped off and any colour topped up.

Glossy manicured nails and a striking lipstick (not gloss or pale), good boots and an appropriate jacket ir coat for the occasion.

I'd say I'm quite a classic style dresser, I only have my nails 2 colours a very pale pink or a dark red. I don't wear a lot of make up and I get my hair sorted every 8 weeks, I take pretty good care of myself but I still can't pull off that beautifully groomed look.

I would love a Jaeger coat but I tried a few last year and they never suited me. I'm a large norked apple with absolutely no waist. I have a ridiculously short body for being 5ft 7 so anytime I try to 'create a waist' I just look like a sack of spuds.

I have zero body confidence and hate my massive norks!

So Lazy Susan you have wonderful long legs up to your armpits then Smile?

If you are on a budget then, I'd suggest doing a trip to a department store or TKMaxx and try on a whole load of coats to see what style/brand suits you, you can tell the difference by touch of the poorer quality ones.

Go for classic colours, camel, black, grey or navy. Avoid anything with too much fuss and detail.
