Steam straighteners

Does anyone have any steam straighteners and are they any better than traditional ceramic ones?

I have, and find them much better than non steam ones. I find my hair lasts the whole day, rather than doing its own thing by lunchtime, and even holds if caught in the rain.

Thanks @ThisCharmingW0man which ones do you have?

I had steam straighteners for a while, be aware if you have hard water, I got limescale in mine and it ate the rubber seal so I ended up with hot water leaking all over my hand. I've since had GHDs and found those to be better, but it's hugely dependent on hair type :)

Thanks @loopsdefruit that's a good tip never even occurred to me to think of the water type. Think I might just stick with GHD's. thanks Smile

Have the L'Oréal steam pod ones. We are in a hard water area but I have a water filter which helps.

We had steam straighteners in 2000 in our student house (if not these exact ones, then some that looked almost identical) and one of my ex housemates still swears they were the best she's ever used.
