How do you dress a barrel?

I am 44 and actually fooking barrel shape!
Years of steroids and the menopause have taken its toll.
I'm trying to get back to my old self but in the mean time, what the hell do I actually wear?
Everything looks a mess.
Any advice would be appreciated

If by barrel you mean big boobs, big belly, not much waist, you are describing me! IDK about you but I still have quite slim arms and legs so I tend to wear jeggings or skinny jeans with loose tunic style tops over them. If you can manage it wearing heels will also elongate you.

Dresses tend to be more flattering than skirts and tops as they can accentuate my lack of a defined waist.

If you can get to a John Lewis book an appointment with a personal shopper. They are free of charge and I have found them very good at breaking me out of a frumpy rut and getting me into something more contemporary and flattering. Don't worry about having to buy, there isn't much pressure, but if you do feel obligated and then change your mind when you get home you can return it to another branch.
