Black circles got the products but how to use?

I'm 50, with slightly crapey skin and awful black circles. Mostly due to disturbed sleep thanks to the menopause.
I've spent a fortune on
BB corrector
BB eye brightener
Clinique concealer
Laura Mercier primer
YSL foundation.

I look ok just after I've done my makeup but the mirror at work is brutal and the circles are back with caked on concealer an hour later.

I'm sure these products work, could anyone give me an idiot's guide to application?

I think under eye circles look worse with too much product. I didn't want to ignore you, but not a problem I suffer from too badly. I think using a paler colour on the actual shadow line can help. Perhaps you could go back to a make up counter and ask them to help.

I need help with this too.
I'm 50 and like you menopausal with disturbed sleep.Hmm

Only thing that is even hinting at working on dark circles is The Ordinary caffeine stuff.....started using it 4 weeks ago and I think the dark circles are less dark.....age 56, thyroid problems and insomnia....not gone..but definitely an improvement..

Thanks, I was hoping for a cure by SaturdayBlush.
I do wonder if I'm overloading all these products.

I think you've spent money to cover up instead of eridicate 😳..... I bought Elmis eye serum & my dark under eye is almost gone after three weeks. I seeked advice from a top surgeon who suggested this instead of the Botox/fillers I though I needed.

Sodaface can you link to exact product

hollieberrie · 05/09/2017 21:54

Check out Wayne Goss YouTube videos. I suffer with bad bags and some darkness and his videos helped me to understand how to apply the different make up products to disguise them.

TaggieRR · 05/09/2017 21:55

Sofaface- please can you let me know which product it is?

Girlywurly · 05/09/2017 21:59

Apparently haloxyl will fade them by about 60%. It removes the accumulated haemoglobin that causes them, and thickens the skin as well I think.

The Garnier bb eye roll-on contains haloxyl, but I'm not sure how much, or how effective it is as I've only just started using it.

I'm also using The Ordinary's caffeine serum after hearing it praised on MN.

Hopefully the above will make me look a bit fresher, although I can't expect miracles as I have deep set eyes so that means lots of natural shadow.

Ps. Lisa Eldridge has a good video in which she explains the different types of undereye darkness and what can be done about these...

Sorry crap at links but I can do pictures.

Also he emphasised that it will only worked efficiently if it's used correctly. We need to be very gentle with the skin around the eyes and dab lightly underneath, squeeze at the gland area then sweep back under the eye lightly. You only need one drop & once a day should be enough to see a big difference after two/three weeks.
