The perfect pink lipstick!

I admired the pink lipstick of an American friend on Facebook. She had several photos in different settings wearing the same lipstick so I asked her what it was.

A drugstore one she said. Rimmel of all things. Shade 070 airy fairy.

Upon searching I find it wasn't released in the UK so I've bought some from America. It really is a beautiful shade. My only gripe would be that it probably doesn't have as good as quality ingredients as more expensive brands but shadewise it trump's lipsticks of all high end ones I've bought.

I'm surprised it wasn't released in the UK. Seems odd that an everyday brand would only have US releases?

Any other not released in the UK I am missing out on? Any brand.

Not a fancy American number - but Mac Girl About Town is my go to pink lipstick.

There are some gorgeous matt shades at MAC.

Sorry I should have mentioned that I hate Mac lipsticks. I used to buy Mac all the time when it first came out (I'm 51) but it's horrible now. All the formulations have changed and they are very drying and don't last on me.

I love "supermodel smile" which is one of the lip glossies in Rosie Huntington whitely makeup collection at M&S. The perfect pink and feels lovely on the lips. It's not especially long lasting but it's definitely my holy grail lip product.

It's green but changes to a shade of pink that suits your colouring. My friend was wearing it on a night out recently and it was amazing to see the difference in the shade on each of us (4 altogether) it's not overly expensive either and lasts ages!

Well in that case, I shall be following your pink lipstick mission to replenish my stock!

You can buy Airy Fairy from Notino, will cost about a tenner with postage but if it is the perfect colour then worth it

Mac Grande Dame Mineralise lipstick - it's a really pretty natural pink and not at all dry. The mineralise range is moisturising I think.

Airy Fairy used to be available in the UK, I guess it just didn't sell very well here.

You can get it on Amazon x

You probably are, but just to ask the question - are you sure pink is your colour?

I spent a long time searching for the perfect pink lipstick, before realising pink lipstick does nothing for me (my best 'neutral' lipstick, it turns out, is wine).

Just putting it out there, as it can be easy to be swayed by someone who looks amazing in a certain colour, even though it might not be the best one for you. Smile

TheDowagerCuntess · 05/09/2017 21:04

Eek sorry - just realised you have tried it, and it works on you! That'll teach me for skim reading Blush

I'm quite lucky I can wear most shades except for very lilac toned and very orange tones.

Now I've let my hair go silver grey naturally, soft links are especially flattering.
