Hi - I haven't had an interview for around 6 years and my current work place is totally casual - I'm currently sitting in summer weight walking trousers, a t shirt and a hoody.
What is current interview attire for, let's say, a large charitable scientific foundation? I used to work in private equity and it was very much suited and booted and highly polished. Is it the same for any job? All my stuff is at least 15 years old and I can't fit into most of it anymore.
I'm 40, between a size 10/12 and 5'9''. I can get away with most things but smart trousers have to be extremely well cut and generally expensive as I have no hips to speak of and am of longer leg length than average (i.e. small body, 34" legs) and I'm wide shouldered but not particularly busty (32DD) - basically swimmer physique but a bit fatter. What sort of dresses should I be looking for or should I look for separates? I've been scruffy for so long I've lost sight of how to dress myself.
I've have practically no budget so will be trawling charity shops.
Please give me some ideas.
