Looking to go light auburn colour, people that have went/have auburn hair do you box dye or go to hairdressers?

Anyone want to post their hair colours?

Go to the hairdressers. It's a difficult colour to maintain. What colour are you now?

travis45 · 04/09/2017 23:47

A light brown, more reddish undertone. The ends are slightly lighter as I was blonde before.

I have my appointment with hair dresser for end of month, so impatient.

Definitely wait for your appointment, otherwise you'll be booking in for full colour correction. It's a bugger to achieve and a bugger to maintain, leave it to the professionals Wink

Thanks Slinky, no doubt by the time I go I will have chosen something else, nightmare.

I've got dark brown hair naturally which i henna and it turns a lovely auburn colour.

Sounds lovely. My sister has hair like you have described and mother is auburn.

Always want what we can't have, auburn is a lovely colour.

Sorry, I have just re-read that. My brain is mush!!

I meant to say my sisters hair is naturally brownish/auburn.

If you have a hairdressers appt already booked I'd wait & let them do it, google/Pinterest the auburn shades you like & snapshot them on your phone so the hairdresser can see exactly the shade you want & there won't be any mistakes!

My hair was naturally auburn when I was little, I've coloured it probably every colour there is since I was 15! I'm trying now though to get it back to a medium auburn but it's been coloured enough lately & I can't a afford a trip to the hairdressers.

With your hair colour now as a light brown, it should be relatively easy to go auburn.

Box dye. L'Oréal castings Amber.

I would wait. Have just spent a fortune on trying to sort out a disaster at home then going for colour correction.

My natural hair colour is auburn with lots of red strands. However I have loads of grey now which makes it much more difficult to maintain as the dye takes less evenly.

If you're light brown now you'll get a good result at a salon and it will be even.
