Side fringe maintenance

I've just gotten a long side fringe cut for a change. But I have no clue how to style it! I've seen conflicting advice on my usual beauty sites - blow dry in the wrong direction, never use straightener or heated tools, always use heated tools, wash the fringe bit every morning even if not washing full hair, don't use moisturise shampoo, etc. I'm confused! How do you keep your side fringe looking lovely and chic? My hair is mostly straight with a tendency to a bit of fizz/kink and a cows lick ...

Watching with interest as mine hangs limply.....

I separate the front section, blow it from side to side until it's nearly dry then dry the whole thing forward over a round brush, if that makes sense. Then blow over to the side I want it. Means it doesn't go limp. Works for me!

When I say the whole thing over a brush I mean the whole front section

I love my side fringe, I go back to it every time. My hair has a strong wave/ loose curl so I use the Curly Girl method, but I hate having a curly fringe and my forehead is too massive to pin it back so I use a large velcro roller to style my fringe. It gives it loads of bounce and shape.

I can get the same effect with straighteners, but that's against the Curly Girl rules (the velcro roller probably is too really!).
