I need a new bag for work!

It needs to fit a laptop and full size daybook, stupidly large charger cable and then the normal stuff like phones, cables, purse, umbrella, bottle of water etc.

I'd like leather, I have an irrational dislike of those Longchamp zipper bags.

This is only for days that I travel and I currently use a purple leather Joules tote type bag that has quite frankly seen better days and the colour doesn't always work.I use a satchel on my non travel days but it's not big enough once I have to cart around cables and charger plugs.

Budget up to £180.

I have a feeling a rucksack is the answer but is here such a thing as a smart one that will work with a proper winter coat?

Some of the orla kiely bags are big and practical and many are half price at the moment. I just bought a messenger bag for work which is really roomy.
Here is a screenshot of the messenger bags (they have a zip not a flap which I find easier and less fumbly)
I'm not sure if a laptop will fit but there are also the large backpacks which are smart

Check out the Fjallraven Totepak nos 1 or 2, which can be carried as a tote or backpack. I don't have one but am seriously considering getting one for work.
