Glycolic acid causing spots?

Hi

I've tried using the alpha h liquid gold and within days of using it twice (a few days apart) I had a horrendous break out of cystic spots. When they cleared up, I tried using it again just one and had another break out so I stopped using it.

Months later, I tried the Nip and Fab pads that are glycolic acid and the same thing happened again.

I have a bottle of the Pixi Glow tonic but I'm scared to use it now in case it causes me to break out.

Can glycolic acid cause spots or is it something else in the products that I tried that caused me to break out?

I wouldn't expect it to cause spots, it's primarily an exfoliant so if anything should reduce them. That's not to say that it hasn't caused yours though, we all react differently to things (and all the other stuff they put in them!).

It caused spots for me! I use products with salicylic acid in instead, but was rushing before a holiday and picked up the wrong product. Had spots the entire way through Sad
