Tips for keeping thigh high boots up?

I recently treated myself to a beautiful new pair of suede thigh high boots (www.dunelondon.com/mobile/sibyl-block-heel-over-the-knee-boot-0090508560002011/ these ones]], if anyone's interested). I bought them in store so didn't see the reviews online where several people complain about them not staying up. Well, I wore them out for the first time last night over skinny jeans and you guessed it... they kept falling down! They'd end up somewhere above my knee, and all baggy around the knee area. I tied them as tightly as I could manage but it made no difference.

I've worn them now so I can't return them, so was wondering if anyone had some suggestions for some sort of modification I could make to stop this happening?

Get fatter legs?

Seriously, even if they're worn I'd be back in the store kicking a stink up if they really won't stay up.

Is it possible to replace the ties with elastic?

(160 quid and they're not even suede but pretend suede, good lord!)

They're real suede, it's just the bit that wraps around the heel that isn't.

I've not got skinny thighs so wouldn't have anticipated it being an issue anyway!

It's the suedette that is the problem. Tall boots made of proper suede have more substance and stay up properly.

I'd take them back: not fit for purpose. £160! They are taking the piss. M&S have done over the knee boots made of real suede for the last couple of years, for less than £100.

It says uppers: suede about them on the John Lewis site.

You need something rubbery to stick in around the tops like on hold ups.

That's what I was thinking Laiste, that stuff that put round strapless bras, stockings etc, but don't know where/how to find it- I thought of trying double sided boob tape but wouldn't want the inside of the boots to become a sticky mess.

I googled a bit and thought i'd fund just the thing (in screwfix of all places), a reusable tape which holds stuff up. But then realised it needs to be attached both sides like velcro. So no good.

Yes to strapless bra stuff.

What about the clear bra straps you can buy for multiway bras? Could you stick a bit of that inside the tops of your boots? It's rubbery ...

What about those rubbery heel grips, you know the ones made of the same stuff as party feet? They would stick permanently inside the boots and would grip your trousers/tights/legs

Heel grips is great idea too!
