VO5 Hot Oil replacement

Afternoon Grin

Does anyone remember the little VO5 hot oil things that were warmed up in hot water and left on the hair for a few minutes?

Someone please recommend a good replacement - I use L'Oreal Extraordinary Oil (one pump) on towel dried hair before drying but I'm looking for something intensive for in-shower use that can be rinsed off

I've tried coconut oil. I'm not a fan

Thankooo 😘

Philip Kingsley Elasticiser is great. Leave it on for a while before shampooing.

I'm not a fan of coconut oil either
But any thick conditioner , damp hair, put a showercap on (the glamour) and the heat from your head helps it absorb, works wonders.

I have Lush R'n'B which works well on my hair (short, wavy, 30% grey but dyed) It gives it a 'coating' which makes it behave .

If you do try PK Elasticiser, M&S do small tubes , then look on QVC for the 1 litre pump.

Oh wow, I'm looking now - thank you

I have lightened ends and the hot oil always helped - been using it for years, I'm not sure why it's been discontinued

If I can't find anything to agree with my hair then it's back to all over brown; and I quite suit my hair like this

Thank you

@JoshGrobansFurryHamster I'm sure you can still buy hot oil? I bought some a few weeks ago x

OhOfCourse · 03/09/2017 14:27

Yes on Amazon xx

JoshGrobansFurryHamster · 03/09/2017 14:28

These are amazing: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B01M255I51/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1504462809&sr=8-1&keywords=tresemme+shots&tag=mumsnetforum-21

You can also get them in Savers and on eBay. You use them between shampooing and conditioning. It says to leave them for 60 seconds but I keep them in for an hour. They completely transform my hair.

Tresemme also do these ones, which I haven't tried yet but are the same sort of thing: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00M5K32MQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_5_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1504463430&sr=8-5&keywords=tresemme+shots&dpPl=1&dpID=41OzRqzi%2BQL&ref=plSrch&tag=mumsnetforum-21

There's also Dove 60 Second Shots which are equally good. You should be able to find some on eBay.
