Would anyone like to comment on this coat? I kind of like the style but there's something about it not quite right. I love the colour of it.

Alternative suggestions welcome.

Personally, I love it!

WipsGlitter · 03/09/2017 11:09

It's ok. It looks like the material might be a bit thin.

BulletFox · 03/09/2017 11:13

I really like it but if it were for myself I'd need tighter shoulders - they look a bit sloped

SagelyNodding · 03/09/2017 11:16

I don't like the wonky collar or the slit/cut-out at the waist.

Love the colour and the cut.

bonfireheart · 03/09/2017 11:17

Looks lovely- only thing is from a sensory point of view those things at the back might irritate me if they can be felt through the coat when you're sitting down with your back against a seat.

JennyHolzersGhost · 03/09/2017 11:20

I like it apart from the skater skirt. Too sticky out for me. Other people would look good in it though. So depends whether you like skater skirts !

MynewnameisKy · 03/09/2017 11:32

I do love Skater dresses but I do worry that I'm too old for them. Grin

I have ordered and will report back about material, buttons etc

Although at that price I don't expect it to be a heavy winter coat.

I do wish Joe Browns and others would put the length of coats etc in the description. It looks shortish which I am ok with but as I'm 5' 4" it might be quite long on me.

It's a beautiful colour and I like the cut of it but the mismatched buttons are really putting me off. I think I'd have to replace them.

Not a fan of the buttons up the back either.

JesusTapdancingChrist · 03/09/2017 12:38

Nope.

I like the colour but the weird cut out and the mismatched buttons are bizarre. Guess that's Joe Browns 'kooky' style but it's not for me.

MynewnameisKy · 03/09/2017 13:10

Replacing the buttons could be a possibility.

I don't mind the milder Joe Browns stuff but I'm 46 and probably too old for it. Grin

Jesus have you seen anything else in that colour probably along the military style?

Nanodust · 03/09/2017 13:50

Sorry but I don't like it at all. It's like it's not quite quirky, not quite classic. Trying to be both which makes it look a bit cheap IMO.

Ohyesiam · 03/09/2017 13:57

You'd need a waist to wear it.
It's slightly too much detail for me, but if the overall look suits you, I'd go for it.

ShmooBooMoo · 03/09/2017 14:37

No, it looks like a mish mash of styles cobbled together. Don't like the mismatched buttons (esp on the back). Material looks cheap and thin (it's mostly synthetic so won't be warm). On the plus side, I like the colour. It puts me in mind of this coat (nice detail on back) which is much nicer (and mostly wool so much warmerer) imho but has a much heftier price tag:

ShmooBooMoo · 03/09/2017 14:41

OP The site says your coat is 88cm and states the height of the model for comparison. I'm the same height as you and that coat would be just about on my knee, I believe :)

WorraLiberty · 03/09/2017 14:42

I really love it but the odd buttons spoil it for me.

Glad you posted the link though, as I love the 'Absolute' coat on the right-hand side, so I've bookmarked it.

Lucked · 03/09/2017 19:09

Like the colour but that is about all, really hate he buttons. Also I wonder what it would look like it open if you got too hot

MynewnameisKy · 03/09/2017 19:20

That's a good point Lucy will check that out when it arrives.

Sorry that was meant to say "Lucked"

the collar looks thick and its asymmetrical.
i find joe brown's fit longer torso and arms, good for small busts.

Get it and try it! it's nice and a lovely colour. the buttons are cool.

blueskyred · 03/09/2017 19:28

it's meant to be asymmetrical and thick (the collar) but i was just trying to guess what might be off. it looks like one collar wraps/crosses over. try it and see how it fits you.

dudsville · 03/09/2017 19:32

I don't like the fabric content but I love it!

Imissmyboy · 03/09/2017 19:32

I love it. Very tempted to order myself at that price.

MynewnameisKy · 09/09/2017 21:13

Just an update to say the coat arrived and for various reasons it doesn't work for me.

  1. Feels hard and uncomfortable- reminds me of coats I had as a child which were itchy/prickly.
  1. The neck seems to be off centre.
  1. Poor quality- ripped lining.
  1. Looks cheap.

It's unfortunate as I still like the colour and general style.

My last coat is from Coast so I know it's probably not fair to compare it to it. However I also have a less expensive Jane Norman coat too which is better made and more comfy.
