Hat help for autumn wedding?

DH's brother is getting married in October. I have ordered this dress (not from this site, got a good deal on it from amazon of all places, but the pics on there don't do it justice so much)

I tried it on in store earlier in the season- as I'm shortish it's almost ankle length on me, so planning to wear with black leather heeled boots, either ankle or knee length. I also have a black Mulberry Lily which I'll wear with the chain long. If it's cold I have a long khaki coloured wool coat, or a draped sheepskin jacket (although the latter may be too casual I guess)

The thing I'm not sure about is what hat- I do like to wear a hat to weddings. I have a navy trilby which I think would go with the slightly 70s feel; not sure the colour will go so may order a burgundy one- however DH says I can't wear a trilby to a wedding.

What do you think? And if not, what could I wear instead? I like those little felt pillbox-y hats for winter, but I don't think they would go with this style of dress?
