The perfect black trousers

Tobuyornot99 · 01/09/2017 21:04

Do they exist? I had a pair years ago I'm sure, but can't find any now.
They will be for work, and will change my life of course Grin
Has anyone seen any lovely black trousers; plain fabric (not polyester), straight leg, no gather / peg / fold / pockets. Just black perfection that look amazing with flat shoes and will turn me into a workplace goddess only slightly lighthearted.
Thanks in advance.

No idea as they are the holy grail so will watch with interest!

Runningpear · 01/09/2017 21:41

Watching, and I will be several pairs if anyone finds them ......

Greenteandchives · 01/09/2017 21:47

The best Ines I ever had were from Wallis, but most of their shops and concessions have gone now. Not much help, sorry.

MuchasSmoochas · 01/09/2017 21:47

No pockets!! Then they won't be perfect surely.

Tobuyornot99 · 01/09/2017 22:00

Muchas I'll go for a pocket if it's so cleverly crafted it doesn't make my hips even hippier - deal? Grin

I refuse to believe that the best pair of trousers anybody ever had were from Wallis. Malfunction. Bleep. Syntax Error.

What were the trousers that Mumsnet used to recommend? They were on here a while ago?

Elledorado · 01/09/2017 23:42

Pps keep recommending Cos for this sort of thing.

FiddleFigs · 01/09/2017 23:50

I just found my holy grail of work trousers in COS today! I bought them in navy and black: slim-fit trousers. No pockets (except for a tiny back pocket), so a good clean fit.

TheMightyMing · 02/09/2017 00:16

Side zip though... I like a fly myself

doodlejump1980 · 02/09/2017 00:25

These?

They are liek the holy grail, they do not exist. So simple yet so unavailable.

coraliss · 02/09/2017 00:50

NEXT !!! I looked absolutely everywhere... bought 3 pairs all at once they were that nice I.e fit, good material & tailoring. They were approx £27 a pair but absolutely. They are all very flattering fit & style. I bought a pair of trousers from some posh concession in House of Fraser for £100 and the NEXT trousers give the really expensive trousers a good run for their money. Honestly, I don't even bother looking anywhere other than NEXT now for work wear.

PaganGoddessBrigid · 02/09/2017 00:58

That's why they're all out of my size in the perfect pair I just saw on Next! People buying three pairs! I just ordered a pair from in m&s hope they're not too frumpy

I preferred a pair from Next that are sold out.

PaganGoddessBrigid · 02/09/2017 01:01

oh dear, I should have read the reviews first.

coraliss · 02/09/2017 01:57

@pagangoddessbrigid.... desperate times call for desperate measures I'm afraid... yes I was that frantically happy I bought 3 pairs ( different styles though ) try going in store & see what they have there . Oh dear re the M&S trousers ... hope they look ok on☘️

Gillybobs · 02/09/2017 08:34

Boden Richmond 7/8 ths for me. Thick cotton with stretch, don't crease, really comfy (do have pockets though)

MsJolly · 03/09/2017 10:36

Am not a fan of Boden but had a look! I want full length though Sad

Tobuyornot99 · 03/09/2017 11:25

Maybe Next is the way to go, I never think of shopping there! Hope we all find what we want Smile

I was surprised to find some in H&M. Their trousers never fit me, but I had an hour to find a funeral outfit, went in there and found a pair that fitted.

Gillybobs · 03/09/2017 14:04

Boden do a full length version of the ones I linked above

SmellTheGlove · 03/09/2017 16:06

I agree with Boden Richmond. Very nice cut and flattering. I've got the 3/4 length as I'm quite tall and like to flash a bit of ankle. You can get full length. The fabric is nice and thick and not too stretch. Look out for a discount code.

SmellTheGlove · 03/09/2017 16:09

I have a friend who has the H and M ones also lovely, but slightly thinner fabric and I felt a bit lumpy in them. Look fab on her though bitch

BobbinThreadbare123 · 03/09/2017 16:12

La Redoute? They do some very nice wool ones.
