Retinoids and other skincare 101 for beginners

Help me please!!!

I'm 51 and have finally sorted my make up out thanks to the lovely woman at Bobbi Brown - 4 months after buying what she recommended (just foundation, blush, powder, brow pencil, lipstick and mascara) I feel 100% more put together and presentable.

I feel I'm now ready to tackle skincare- I have rosacea and have used dermalex rosacea cream for a couple of years.

The redness isn't too bad (mainly nose / chin area) and is fine with light foundation. I don't have any spots or anything from it. My skin is obviously aging as I'm now 51 - I have some sun damage and some sagging on my eyelids and my neck deffo looks aged.

I've read here about retinoids and all other stuff but I have no idea where to start. Any hints / tips / suggestions VERY gratefully received!!

Thank you

Retinols/retinoids can be effective but maybe that's a bit of a big step if you don't use anything like that. Some acid treatments might suit to start with, but start slowly in case it flares your rosacea. Lactic acid is supposed to be gentle, and The Ordinary do a Lactic Acid serum that I've used and liked. If that goes ok, you might consider Glycolic Acid.
