Buying clothes full price...

Does anyone actually do this? Things seem to be in the sale or with some 20% off or more within a few weeks of being in stock.

I would, love to just go and buy what I want but I've lost £££ by just not holding off for a couple of weeks......

The only criteria I would have for paying full price is if it was something I could not live without
I've come close on a few occasions but have always managed to hold out and have never been disappointed
Has to be reduced by 40% or more for me to buy

Makes you wonder if stuff is marked up too high and then reduced as a kind of strategy......

Worst stuff seems to be designer, not that I tend to buy. Occasionally I might head to Harvey Nics if I have a wedding to go to. Last time got a dress from £480 to £60 and a pair of Tods for £80, down from £300. I would have been sick had I paid full price!

I think a great deal of clothing is overpriced and that a sale is simply a ploy to get us to buy, at the price they should be anyway. I remember listening to a sofa manufacturer who said customers would only buy if an item was discounted, so hence the permanent sales!

Very very rarely. I think everything is overpriced now. And crap materials.

Hardly ever. Usually eBay tbh, get some lovely TOAST pieces of great quality.

As I've been on eBay for so long, going to the shops seems so extravagent.

Depends how often they discount. I've got things I want waiting in my Boden basket that I won't buy until I get minimum 20% off (but would prefer 30%). Ditto Gap. But I'll buy the stuff I really like from COS because they have only 2 sales a year and even at full price the quality make it good value.

I've kept a record of everything I buy and the majority of what I've bought this year has been discounted, I'm more likely to buy full price when the item is very cheap or if there's no alternative.
