Alternative to Barbour - Rydale?

Ever since I was young and horse obsessed I've always fancied a Barbour wax jacket, preferably in dark green. Even though I'm no longer horse mad I'd still like to swan around looking posh country style but cannot afford a Barbour, however google has shown me some nice looking wax jackets made by Rydale. Unfortunately there are no stockists in my area so I would have to buy online - has anyone any idea of the quality and sizing of this brand? Or could anyone recommend another alternative brand please?

They are avarage quality, I had a rydale tweed jacket but it only lasted a year or two

I have rydale shirts. They aren't the best. I would say average quality. Not tried the coats though.

Rydale are ok for a copy cat style. Try John Partridge for wax jackets. They have an online shop but if you can get to their outlet shop in Staffordshire then you can pick up real bargains.

No personal experience, but I have heard good things about Brakeburn.

If you can manage, somehow, to afford a Barbour, then it is an invetment worth making. They last forever and they do a refurbishment and repair service. My mum has just had her 25 year old Barbour rejuvenated like this, and it looks brand new.

Had my Rydale Richmond Navy wax jacket delivered 2.3.24

ITS SUPERB !!! XL fit is great, quality even better ….

Rydale DONT have retail stores- so you buy direct from them ( the manufacturer…)

This keeps the costs down dramatically

i paid £50 for this jacket, if they had retail outlets and ALL the costs of running shops - these jackets would probably have a RRP of £180/200 !!!

ive also bought a Rydale Stamford ( classic wax jacket ) thats incredible too and every bit as good as the ‘so called ‘ PREMIUM brand !

5 star RYDALE .

Is there any chance you will be visiting the North East soon OP? They have a factory outlet near South Shields where you might be able to pick one up cheaper.
