I usually wear skinny jeans and leggings. I get lots of cystitis though and want to try somethIng that doesn't cling tight to my undercarriage.
I look grim in wide leg trousers so thought maybe sweatpants or harems. I'm 5' and size 12/14 and hour glass shape. I'm mid 50s. I dress very casually generally and like sporty styles and am a young looking 50 something. Any help as to what to try. I don't want something that will make my hips and bum look massive but don't want anything tight either due to bladder problem. Thanks in advance for any ideas because I don't know where to start.

I have some uniqlo lounge pants they're jogging style but light cotton come in many colours

Sleepthief · 29/08/2017 17:46

I bought these recently m.asos.com/nike/nike-vintage-sweat-pants-in-grey/prd/7407954?clr=multicolour&SearchQuery=Nike%20vintage&pgesize=17&pge=0&totalstyles=17&gridsize=2&gridrow=5&gridcolumn=1 and love them. Lovely lightweight fabric and very flattering...

My Aussie friend calls them poo catchers 😳

LetZygonsbeZygones · 29/08/2017 17:59

Yes that's the perfect name for them. I will look like toddler DGD before nappy change

Not sure what's in the current collection but I've recently got smart black joggers from Wallis with elastic waistband that are free around crotch. They look quite good and you can wear heeled sandals for that sport luxe look

LetZygonsbeZygones · 29/08/2017 18:38

sleepthief any recommendations about best size to order in the vintage nikes? I have small waist and podgy thighs? Do they come up small or generous on thigh? Thanks. I've ordered some reeboks too.

I am the same height, size and age as you.
I have a lot of dropped crotch pants with narrow legs which are surprisingly flattering.
If you have a looser bottom half you often need Amore fitted top
Good luck

Hush Amie joggers. I have two pairs and they are superb. Size down. I'm a 12/14 and take a small Confused

NC4now · 29/08/2017 19:48

How do the Hush harem pants shape up sizewise?

ilovecherries · 29/08/2017 19:50

NC, I'm a 14/6 and wearing a medium in the hush harems, and the same in the Amie joggers.

LetZygonsbeZygones · 29/08/2017 20:41

John Lewis near me has Hush concession so am definitely going to try harems and Amie joggers

I am a 12/14 - 14 really on the bottom - but I ordered the large because I like them a bit looser...

Sleepthief · 30/08/2017 00:15

I did not get on at all with the hush harems, by the way - too much fabric at the waist (can't be doing with all that extra bulk!). This was a few years ago, though, so they may have changed the design.

MissBeehiving · 30/08/2017 06:33

I'm also throwing Sweaty Betty into the mix;

Either ; www.sweatybetty.com/clothing/bottoms/trousers/grey-bragi-luxe-woven-pants/

Or; www.sweatybetty.com/clothes/bottoms/pants/grey-liberty-luxe-pant/

I have the liberty luxe ones and really like them.

I have the hush amies and the harems but on balance prefer the Amie's although the fabric on mine is thin, for winter.

LetZygonsbeZygones · 30/08/2017 08:03

Those liberty luxe ones look great. And in the sale too :).will call in at sweaty Betty too . Thanks missbeehiving.

I bought the Hush harems and, while I liked them, I felt that they really weren't worth the money. I sent them back and got a pair of similar ones from Amazon for about £12 and they're fab. I think it was these:

Uniqlo here too. That is all I wear these days.

LunaTheCat · 30/08/2017 09:35

LetZ
I am in NZ so I cannot recommend any British labels currently sorry!

LetZygonsbeZygones · 30/08/2017 13:02

Just got back from town with 2 pairs of hush Amies. Tried vintage Nike's but didn't suit me. Sweaty Betty didn't have the liberty luxe in but getting them next week. Thanks so much for all your help everyone.
