Puffy and red under eyes

Can anyone recommend anything to soothe and decrease the redness, my eyes have suddenly become puffy and red underneath and any make up or attempts to cover just sits in the puffyness and creases so I'm after urgent recommendations for soothing cream/moisturiser and cover up make up. Thank you!

Before you start covering up, I would ask why have your eyes suddenly become puffy and red? Have you gained weight, have you an allergy or infection, are you drinking lots of alcohol or do you have an eye problem? Have you had an sight examination recently?
