Could you help me find an outfit for October wedding?

I'm getting so fed up of trying to find something - I need some fresh eyes. I originally had a navy pleated skirt, but I've spent far too long trying to find a top to go with, that I think buying a dress would just be simpler.

I am a size 8 but I'm forever bloated, so nothing tight around my stomach preferably. I'm 5ft4 and would ideally like something knee or calf length. I have long legs and a short body.

I like cooler tones colourwise, especially navy blue, light blue and light pink. Will likely wear nude pink heels.

Oh, and budget would really, really like to be under about £70. Is this possible?!

Thank you in advance for any help!

Phase Eight are always reliable for wedding attire, and many of their dresses and tops feature really clever tucks/gathers/detailing around the tummy area. They are always having 20% and more offers, even at the moment on some new in dresses. You may find something to suit your budget with one of these offers.

Dorothy Perkins have had many dresses in the colours you mentioned you like, and they have a huge sale on, so you may get a great bargain!

Bit of a placemark as I am in a similar boat! I'm a size 8 too and have a bit of a tummy at the moment but need a dress for an evening do. I will be checking out Phase Eight thanks Argeles if they are good for tummies Smile.

I've had good luck with Monsoon in the past. They might be over your budget at full price but often have offers.

Oh gosh, there are so many nice dresses on that Chi Chi website! I may be here a while...

Phase Eight sounds good for the tum too, thank you! Better get searching...

Too long?

Beautifully simple - would work well with your shoes.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 27/08/2017 16:54

Just had a look at the Phase Eight website Argeles and a lot of the dresses look very flattering for a tummy, thank you. I will take a trip to one of their shops :)

Have a look at Finery for a dress. Size quite generous so their 8 should give you room to breathe so to speak. And on that subject, have you tried fennel for the bloating? #gamechanger

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 27/08/2017 17:53

How do you take the fennel? Sorry if stupid question!

Argeles · 27/08/2017 18:04

TooStressy... you're welcome for the Phase Eight recommendation.

I'm a larger clothes size than you, and even before I had my DD I had a gigantic stomach, but I own 3 very flattering Phase Eight Dresses that disguise it really well without being frumpy in any way. Most of their fabrics are high quality too.

I hope you get an outfit soon OP.

GinGeum · 27/08/2017 22:08

What is this about fennel?!

Although I'm wondering if I may have to admit I'm actually gaining weight towards a size 10, rather than blaming bloating... Wink

Grin. I'm currently between sizes and feel your pain. Nothing bloody fits but if i size up things are too big everywhere else!

GinGeum · 28/08/2017 09:01

On those sites where you put your measurements in and it tells you your dress size for different shops, my waist measurement comes in at a size 12/14 - the rest of me is an 8! It's most annoying.

Yep Sad. Even when I was super fit I was a dress size different in my tummy. Currently not super fit so there is an even bigger difference Grin.

Ariella have flattering dresses. I wore one to a wedding last summer and received lots of compliments. They have a sale on just now too.
