Can I just rave for a moment about Oliver Bonas?

Just such pretty things. In pretty colours! And modern styles! And nice, good quality fabrics! And a sale which meant I have just spent 200ish quid and bought about 12 things!

I mean, look at this shirt. LOOK HOW PRETTY IT IS. www.oliverbonas.com/fashion/loa-shirt-49052#selection=size:14__366

I've just been clearing out cupboard and found some really nice high st pieces that I've picked up here and there: Bonas, Zara, H&M and Gap. Lasted and washed well, not gone bobbly or misshapen and weren't 'fashion' pieces so still wearable.

I've even found some vintage whistles (and I really do mean vintage as I bought them in the 1980s). I don't think they quality is as good these days though.

I've never got the viscose dislike tbh, it wears well, is cosy, doesn't need to be ironed, never makes you sweat the way acrylic does - so for me it's not a problem. I know some people hate it though!

Love OB, only came across this place few months back. Lovely!

SylviaPoe · 28/08/2017 15:53

I don't mind viscose in that kind of dress fabric. I have a few dresses made from it. It's just when it is knitwear; it has an odd shiny appearance.

sulee · 28/08/2017 19:26

Love OB. Their customer service (online orders) is great too!

PollyPerky · 28/08/2017 19:50

Seriously? I'm underwhelmed.

AccrualIntentions · 28/08/2017 19:55

One just opened up really near me...and I was underwhelmed. I really wanted to like it, I think maybe I'm too common.

Deathraystare · 29/08/2017 08:24

THAT DONT GO UP TO MY SIZE

I know the feeling! Bastards!

I've never got the viscose dislike tbh,

Well you would if you were me. The minute I put on anything Viscosey - I sweat like a pig - my fringe becomes soaking, rivers run down my throat and my back!

WinterIsComingKnitFaster · 29/08/2017 08:29

I like OB but never go there because I'm used to the skirts being really short. Have they really brought them down a couple of inches?

Love the jewlery there. I miss it. Nearest ones a good few hours away now instead of a 10mins bus ride.

OhTheRoses · 29/08/2017 08:46

Greatly missed since moving from SW LondonSad

Agoddessonamountaintop · 29/08/2017 10:56

Have they left SW London then Roses? I remember the shop on Northcote Road, dangerously close to my house - in fact, we had a mirror made there gawd knows where we got the money from. Think it was the first branch or one of the earliest, at least.

OhTheRoses · 29/08/2017 10:58

No, but we have Grin

Agoddessonamountaintop · 29/08/2017 11:06

Oops just dropped £100 at Fever Blush. Now I remember why I hardly ever come on to this board!

Agoddessonamountaintop · 29/08/2017 11:07

Ah yes we have too - one of the many things I miss about that place.

TheOtherGirl · 29/08/2017 17:53

I don't get the viscose hate either. I absolutely cannot wear wool so need knitwear that is either cotton or man made fibre.

MulhuddartDrive · 29/08/2017 20:02

I quite like viscose in some items, mainly dresses, but it has to have a decent weight which is where I think a lot of brands get it wrong. Thin viscose looks and feels cheap.

OlennasWimple · 29/08/2017 20:06

I was put off by the fact that their stuff can be quite distinctive, and at one point every other mum on the school run was wearing something from there so it felt a bit sheeple to wear their stuff too.

I know I probably shouldn't care about that, but hey, this is S&B, I can say things that that here that I can't in RL Smile

littleredpear · 29/08/2017 23:00

I'm tiny. Everything's too short I've found.

Also quality is terrible - I've binned two dresses after not much wear.

I love the stuff, jewellery especially, but it's just not great quality.

ibuiltahomeforyou · 30/08/2017 12:05

I agree with @littleredpear and others that the quality is dreadful ime.

When I lived in Clapham I often bought things there and despite only moving three years ago I don't have a single thing left in my wardrobe.

I had a beautiful purple flamingo-print dress, for example, which I got about six wears out of before it bobbled. It looked lovely but the quality isn't there.

littleredpear · 30/08/2017 13:00

Yes @ibuiltahomeforyou one dress went in the bin after a few wears as it fell apart in the wash

April241 · 30/08/2017 13:02

LOVE OB!!! 😁

April241 · 30/08/2017 13:03

Although I don't get any clothes, just accessories and home things.

pandarific · 30/08/2017 19:07

Mostly everything bobbles on me, wherever I buy it from I find. Sad I have one of these shaver thingies and it's rescued a load of clothes for me - highly recommend. www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00E3862DE/ref=pd_aw_lpo_201_bs_img_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=22DXNE806Z8H61ES92DW&tag=mumsnetforum-21
