Question for epilator users

I bought a Braun Silk Epil 7 back in 2010 when it just launched (I know the series 9 has recently replaced it) and used it for a little while, got annoyed and then went back to wet shaving. I picked it up and gave it a go again after a long long time but I still have one big problem which perhaps the more experienced epilator users can answer.

I have no issues underarm or on legs and the front bit of the 'bikini' zone. But (sorry if TMI) when I literally get to trying to use it right between the legs it's just too too painful.

Does anyone have anything they know of that works well to numb that area so it can be done less painfully. I was thinking about Bonjela gel which numbs for mouth ulcers and wondered if that would work.

Appreciate any suggestions.

Jesus no!
I have used an epilator for years (had the original Braun one 30+ years ago!) but I would never attempt it there...not without a general anaesthetic!

I've used an epilator for years, and am pretty hard core, but I mainly just use it for underarms these days, and maybe occasional use on legs and sides bikini, but wouldn't go further "underneath". I tend to get waxed for that area, much quicker and easier.

I can't suggest anything short term but I've epilated the undercarriage for want of a better word for years and your skin does get used to it and it hurts a lot less over time.
