I'm late 30s a size 14/16 on top and 12/14 on bottom, my go to outfit is a little dress, short to show if my legs, with tights and shoes or boots with a cardy on top. It makes me feel pretty and feminine and I actually get completed a lot on my dresses. Think flowers, birds and butterfly's. I mainly stick to a shirt dress, skater or fit n flare. On my casual days I wear skinny jeans with boots and pretty tops or if I'm super casual new balance trainers and fitted tshirts with jeans.

I'm a mid 30s, 5"8, 14-16.
Are you thinking day to day/ casual/ school run/ smarter?

Also, The reason I love dresses is that you don't have to think about getting the right leg length like you do with jeans and trousers! I'm a 34" to 35" leg you are! Grin

Probably day to day to start with...I seem to live in a uniform of jeans and a vest top with a waterfall type cardigan

Are you on Pinterest Amy? You can put in size 16 fashion ideas & it will come up with lots of stuff.

I'm exactly the same height, size and shape as you (though not the same age, alas!). I have two basic silhouettes that suit me - loose-ish, long-ish tops with fitted bottoms, or fitted tops with wide bottoms. I choose different pieces, but broadly stick to those two shapes. So the first shape can include shirt dresses with bare legs or tights, tunics with leggings, loose shirts with skinny jeans, etc. The second shape can include fitted shirts tucked into wide leg trousers, fit and flare dresses, fitted T-shirts with A line skirts, etc.

Thinking this through like this really helps me to buy clothes and put outfits together. I've even divided my wardrobe into the two shapes!
