Trousers with some "give"

I'm embarrassed to ask this and afraid on being directed to Bon marche, but here goes...

My stomach is huge, I'm about a size 18 everywhere but can't fit my stomach in trousers that size. I'd have to buy trousers in size 20/22 but then they'd look baggy everywhere else.

I'm not a huge fan of skirts/dresses, although will wear them in autumn/winter with tights/leggings, so need some trousers than have elasticated waist band (shudder) or some kind of give in them so they can fit around my stomach.

I am trying to lose weight, but I need trousers (especially for work) right now. I suppose maternity could be an option, but Ive not tried that yet....

Any advice/ suggestions?

Oh and I can't wear cigarette pants or slim leg, I look ridiculous. I need wide leg/boot cut/straight leg at a push.

I think I would find trousers I liked, buy in whatever size fitted on the stomach and then get them altered.

I've done this a couple of times when I've bought second hand and they've just taken the back seam in. It cost £10-£15 as far as I can remember, depending on age and fabric.

These are what you need! Smile

I also have this issue with trousers, so I live in leggings constantly. I am interested to hear if you find some trousers that fit well or if alteration is the answer.
