Nivea in the blue pot

Does anyone else use this as much as me? I have used this for years and just love it, tried the Nivea Soft version but don't like the smell. It must be ancient stuff as remember it from when I was young and my mum and Grandma using it Smile

I use both. The blue top one is fab on my aging neck, seems to mask all the nasty aging sagginess for a wile at least. I like the soft during the day and as a hand cream. Both cheap as chips too!

LambChopsMcGee · 26/08/2017 11:31

What do you use it for? Instead of a night cream? It seems a bit rich for my face... I use the Nivea Q10 night cream, I'm 33.

I like the smell and feel of classic Nivea though. I use it on my hands sometimes. My mum uses it as a lip balm.

Grawp · 26/08/2017 11:35

I love it. Use it as a lip balm and eye makeup remover.

Peanutbuttercheese · 26/08/2017 11:40

No but I remember it and as an aside I have started using Ponds cold cream, which has been around since the Ark. My father used it, way back in the sixties when men never moisturised. He departed this life virtually unlined in his eighties.

ThreeSangriasFloor · 26/08/2017 11:47

My DH gets through the blue tubs like nobody's business Grin.

I prefer the blue Q10 bottle of body lotion. Smells great, too.

BeyondLimitsAndWhatever · 26/08/2017 11:50

I always use this when my face eczema starts to flare, and it sorts it out brilliantly. Also good for holiday when I don't want to take 72 different lotions and potions Grin

battenbergbutterfly · 26/08/2017 11:50

I use it to take make up off and to moisturise.

I use it, have to put it on about 20 mins before make up but its cheap, I have good skin and at 50 not too many wrinkles.

Used that and Astral for years but I haven't seen Astral for a while.

YellowLawn · 26/08/2017 11:53

I use it mainly on my hands before (to protect) and after (to soothe) cleaning and gardening.

BeyondLimitsAndWhatever · 26/08/2017 11:59

I have never tried using it to take make up off - gonna give it a go

bookworm14 · 26/08/2017 12:12

I love it. Use it as a night cream and my skin feels lovely in the morning. You only need a small amount as it's so thick, so a tub lasts ages.

userofthiswebsite · 26/08/2017 14:27

I have it but I like the Nivea Soft one too - smells so fresh

BobbinThreadbare123 · 26/08/2017 14:29

Yep, I use it to moisturise. I put it on after a shower and it makes a nice makeup base. I do have very dry skin though. It's very soothing.

Circumlocutor · 26/08/2017 14:42

Astral is still about. I like it but can't use it because it seems to make my eyes itch even if I'm scrupulous about keeping it away from my eyes.

PinkBlossomTree · 26/08/2017 14:53

Absolutely LOVE it. My face has been so dry for a few years. Tried loads of products but this has sorted the dryness out. I couldn't wear foundation before as it was so flakey it looked terrible.

I cleanse with coconut oil and a hot cloth then use Nivea on top in the evening and I use it as a primer during the day.

Also found it's now available in B&M bargains and super cheap.

Babyblues14 · 26/08/2017 14:55

Use it everyday, great moisturiser and it's the only one that stops my skin breaking out

grandOlejukeofYork · 26/08/2017 14:56

I use it every single night, I love it.

Anasnake · 26/08/2017 14:58

I have very dry skin and have used it morning and night for years - it's the only cream I use.

oldlaundbooth · 26/08/2017 14:59

It's super stuff.

Makes me look ten years younger!

oldlaundbooth · 26/08/2017 14:59

I only use it in winter though, when the air is dryer. It's too much in the summer.

Paintbox · 26/08/2017 15:12

I've always assumed that Nivea blue pot is so rich that I only use it for hands, elbows, heels etc. I wouldn't dream of putting it on my face as it's so rich I would assume instant spots! You're making me think I should give it a go though

Persemillion · 26/08/2017 15:15

I think all women in my family - mother's side - have a soft spot for the blue pot Nivea. We use it everywhere, but our faces though. Very good stuff.

Kbear · 26/08/2017 15:18

I bought Nivea on holiday in Spain couple of weeks back - it was 1.5 euro! I now use it on my face every day - it's a lovely moisturising base for makeup and I can't believe I stopped using it years ago for fancier brands that I now realise aren't as good.

Puppymouse · 26/08/2017 15:25

Yes! I was using Chanel hydro stuff for years and it was ok but so expensive. One time I ran out and we were in a supermarket and I just grabbed the Nivea. Wear it every night without fail and my skin definitely likes it. And it's only 5 or 6 quid Smile

grandOlejukeofYork · 26/08/2017 15:25

I wouldn't dream of putting it on my face as it's so rich I would assume instant spots!

Actually I had so many more spots before I started using this creme, I have hardly any now.
