Boots, that do everything, go everywhere.

I need boots. Specifically ankle boots with a shaft slightly longer than chelsea boots. They need to be leather to stand up to rain.
I want to be able to wear with dresses, and jeans.
They must be able to smarten up casual outfits, and somehow dress down dressy outfits. I want to be able to go through a whole day without needing to change them. So I want to wear them for a commute, school run, evening out and sometimes at weekends - though I usually just wear trainers then.
My budget is up to £200.
And I prefer black, so the tights thing is simpler.

I think you're asking too much of one pair of boots.

burnishedsilver · 25/08/2017 10:56

Having said that, DM Flora would fulfill some of your brief.

Blundstones. Waterproof, warm and and stylish as ankle boots get.

Someone linked to these on another thread:

I don't think they will fit the evening-out brief though.

Teva De La Vina Low ?

MaybeDoctor · 25/08/2017 16:54

Hobbs do some well-made boots.

I'm really liking my Ash Hurrican black python boots. They do have a low heel, not sure if you'd prefer something flat? I think they cover all the events you mention but the shaft maybe slightly too low.

FrostedFlaakes · 25/08/2017 17:03

I was going to say DM Flora too. They look good with everything. I have a black pair and a cherry red pair and both were worn constantly through two winters and still look great.

Lucked · 25/08/2017 18:04

I have the DM's with strap linked to above (in black and cherry) and they are very versatile but I don't think they quite fit your brief as they are the same length as Chelsea boots.

CaseStudyResearch · 25/08/2017 18:39

I'd have a look at ecco.

I got a pair for under £100 in a outlet that do all of what you are looking for above. I often wear them to work (on both normal and dress-down days) and then out for dinner/drinks/clubbing.

I just found these and I remembered your post!

Both in Tan and Black. Lovely and they even are close to your budget, on the right side of it.
