I can't find anything in silver. I don't want white gold.

Second the vote for palladium

I'm sure there are loads on etsy. Also amazon might be worth a look.

Have a look on eBay, there is so so much choice in terms of style, I've attached three pictures which are within your budget, all very different. I know people are saying avoid silver, but I have had several silver rings that were worn daily for almost a decade and they still look new, you just have to polish them occasionally.

It would also be worth looking at lab-grown sapphires. They're chemically indistinguishable from natural ones but don't fetch anything like the same price. A quick Google turned up this

Try Gemporia, they specialise in putting gemstones into silver.

Sterling silver won't hold a stone well- well at least that has been my advice.

If it's just the gesture then I would go with a pretty silver ring with a much less expensive stone- topaz is beautiful and you can get different shades of the blue and then when you feel like it, "upgrade" to a different ring.

I have white gold and diamonds and have had my engagement ring replated once in 11 years. It holds its colour well. It also has a fuck load of diamonds on it too Grin

Sorry, I posted too soon! I was also going to say there's nothing actually wrong with a sparkly fake if the budget's tight and there are other things you need the money for - I have a couple of nice rings from Heavenly Necklaces. They're made of rhodium-plated silver and collect quite a lot of compliments when I wear them.

Have you spoken to any high street jewellers? When we were looking for rings they said any of the rings could be made in any available metal, not just the one displayed.

MirandaWest · 24/08/2017 22:03

My engagement ring is palladium with a sapphire. Designed it myself - I think it was about £700. I sent the designer pictures of rings I liked and we discussed it on the phone and he made it just how I wanted 😊

This one might have already been posted but it's a beautiful silver solitaire with a 5mm lab grown sapphire. Only £35 Shock

The ones I have posted are very inexpensive, though. Coloured cubic zirconia / created sapphire and silver. Look like engagement rings, though.

Or these

AvoidingCallenetics · 24/08/2017 22:19

That's very pretty miranda

If you are prepared to go to the top of your budget I can recommend RING jewellers in Brighton. They do a bespoke service with titanium, palladium or white gold (there is a video explaining why their white gold will not change colour). We got our wedding bands there (mokum gane).
