I've decided I need a pair of these. Am not sure of the budget - it depends on how much the ones I really like are. So any of you have any recommendations?

I've had my Dr Marten "Gayle" biker boots for 5 years now. They are going strong and look better with age.

CruCru · 24/08/2017 21:58

I utterly love those boots Squ1ggle. Unfortunately, I have such high arches I really need a zip, otherwise I can't get them on.

I'll check out Doc Marten.

Another vote for the DM Gayle.
Versatile and comfy, winner!

CruCru · 24/08/2017 22:08

Do they have a zip or are they pull on?

Get the Barbour 'Balham' boots. I bought some in a sale four years ago and they are still going strong. They are my best friends in winter.

CruCru · 24/08/2017 23:32

The Balham boots look terrific - unfortunately they've been discontinued and no one seems to have them any more.

I am currently waiting for these to arrive m.zara.com/uk/en/woman/shoes/boots-and-ankle-boots/leather-ankle-boots-with-faux-pearls-c665040p4702503.html they have hidden zips at the back. Zara have a really good selection of real leather boots at the moment, some less embellished styles too

bingohandjob · 25/08/2017 18:35

Cru, I recommended the Timberland biker ones - I normally have a battle to get pull ons like that on but these slip on like a dream and are such great quality and so versatile.

I spent last winter searching for some to replace my perfect ones that gave up and fell apart (they were just from new look!)
I need mid calf length, round toe. A. It "rock chick".
Will be following this thread with interest and hoping to find some

thesleepsheep · 25/08/2017 18:39

Rocket dog do lovely ones.

cuirderussie · 25/08/2017 18:42

Gayle DMs appear to have been discontinued Sad. Why do they do that? They have a new version in a hideous tweed mix, just horrible!

disorganisedmummy · 26/08/2017 08:36

Have a look on Kurt Geiger. I got two pairs of biker boots last Autumn in the sale. One calf length pair and one ankle length and I love them. They are so comfy. KG often have really good sales and they have a fantastic selection.

RaininSummer · 26/08/2017 09:09

I have just ordered those Timberland ones. Twenty percent off this weekend too. Look really sturdy for stomping about this winter.

AppleBlossomTimeNow · 26/08/2017 12:11

Check out the Clarks Outlet website - some biker styles there

KeiraH · 26/08/2017 12:21

I am getting those from Zadig and Voltaire. I absolutely love them 😊

Hi all

So I bought a pair of biker boots from Clarks but they were miles too narrow so I sent them back. They have some other ones that are in a wide fitting so I might try those.

Alternatively, I like the look of these Ugg ones.

www.ugg.com/uk/niels/1019073.html?dwvar_1019073_color=BLK#prefn1=variationSize&prefv1=7&start=25&cgid=women-boots

However, the zip doesn't go all the way to the bottom so I have no idea whether I can get my foot in (incredibly high arches).

These ones from Jones also look good but have no zip so I'd have to faff about with buckling and unbuckling them (lazy) plus the sole is a different colour to the leather.

Ugh, I am going to have to actually go to some shop shops, aren't I?

My office ones are lovely - actually fur lined, really nice style and cozy. They came up small though so had to send back and exchange for the next size up. Office also have a lovely pair of biker boots (own band) for £99 which look fab - first ones that come up when you search for biker boots on the website.

LifeofClimb · 13/09/2017 13:59

My New Look biker boots are two years old, been used to death, survived a muddy festival, and are still going strong. They cost around £30. Just putting that out there... the exact pair won't be available now but I really rate the quality of new look shoes and boots!

CruCru · 13/09/2017 16:33

I've just ordered these, as the Jones ones were not quite right.

Hi all

The boots from John Lewis (Somerset by Alice Temperley) didn't fit - I couldn't even get my feet in. I also tried on some at All Saints but they had a strap round them so, even though the zip went to the bottom, there was no way I could get my foot in.

I ended up getting the UGG Niels boots in a U.K. Size 8 (I am usually a 7 - but I think UGG come up quite small).
