Boots like these....

I had my heart set on these ankle boots, but went to get them today, and don't like the sole. It's thin an rubbery, and I will wear it out in no time at all (I walk about 5 miles a day).

But... I love the style, and could see me wearing this type of boot a lot. Has anyone seen anything similar, but with a proper hard sole? Also.., I'm a size 8 or 9. 8 in Clark's, feet are quite wide.

Anyone?

I had a brief look in M and S today...they had a number of boots like your picture. I didn't check the sole for durability though.

StayGoldPonyBoy · 30/08/2017 21:38

I was coming to say M&S too. I got some gorgeous ones in there that are v similar, super comfy and have a good hard sole.

EraArils · 30/08/2017 22:04

How about these? Fly London boots. I find Fly london boots really comfortable.

BikeRunSki · 30/08/2017 22:06

I love those Era, but I know by sad and bitter experience, that the largest size Fly boots and shoes are too small for me.

Hudson do boots in that style and are quite hard wearing.

BikeRunSki · 30/08/2017 22:34

OMG Hudson boots are beautiful! And they stop at a 41 - I need a 43, and now because I have looked at them online, my pop up ads will mock me with this beautiful, dainty unattainable boost for ever more.

Hate my massive feet.

Have you looked at men's' styles? Or is that a stupid insensitive question? Blush

badbadhusky · 30/08/2017 22:48

Cuban heeled men's section on Shuperb? They do half sizes in some of the "smaller" sizes.

badbadhusky · 30/08/2017 22:53

Damn! There are some fun men's boots out there. The Royal blue ones are fun too.

I really liked some of the Hudson men's boots too...

badbadhusky · 30/08/2017 22:56

Hurry! Only one pair of these left.

badbadhusky · 30/08/2017 22:57

...In a 43

ragz134 · 30/08/2017 23:06

Following as i am struggling witb a si ilar problem... I ordered the Clark's Orinoko spice boots, but returned as they didn't feel right on, maybe I could have worn them in but they weren't £65 good IYSWIM. Gutted.
I'm a 9 in Clark's now apparently (used to fit a lot of their 8s but for some reason despite losing weight my feet are bigger or shoes are smaller!).
Would love to know where else to find similar boots in a 9, I hate shoe shopping as nothing ever fits!

imjessie · 30/08/2017 23:25

Get them re soled , a cobbler can add an extra layer on if you love them !

badbadhusky · 30/08/2017 23:27

Long Tall Sally is good for larger sizes but the quality/materials are often disappointing. Gabor, Hotter (if you can find less old lady styles) and sometime Joseph Siebel (a bit utilitarian) are also options.

BikeRunSki · 31/08/2017 06:31

Thanks everyone. I wear a lot of men's shoes, and largely "get away with it" because I'm tallish (5'8) and broad (I think my skeleton alone is a 16 across the shoulders). But sometimes, you know, I like women's shoes. Men's - even brogues, loafers, Chelsea boots and the like - are styled a bit chunkier and angular and don't look right with dresses. The men's ankle boots are all higher than the Clark's that I like - I like the "shoe ness" of them, rather than being a full boot.

I'm familiar with a lot of big shoe sellers -After 8, Crispins, Josef Siebel, Hotter, Gabor, Tall Girls, Long Tall Sally - and they are often either a compromise on style (most of them!) or quality (LTS are shocking). I just wanted to wear shoes that were nice, not just because they fit.

Can a cobbler really re-sole moulded rubber soles?

Op I love the Colindale Oak boots. I've been lusting after them for a while. I need to go and try them on. Watching this thread with interest for alternatives too - thank you!

badbadhusky · 31/08/2017 21:12

Bike - How about these? Down to £54 in the Cat sale. See pic

Oooh, I like them. I need black, but I like them very much.

There is still a pair of 43s...

BikeRunSki · 25/09/2017 18:43

So, it turns out that a friend of mine had them, and really doesn't rate them. The online reviews were not great either. So, whilst pondering boots, I came across these in TK Maxx, reduced to £20 and in my size. Stuff like this never happens to me! For £20, I'm happy to take my chances.
